Aodh Ruadh x-x
Ardara x-x
The under 14s played out one of the games of the year in Father Tierney park against Ardara last Friday. Ardara laid down some serious firepower in the first half and they went in at the break with a deserved seven point lead. Aodh Ruadh played the game with just the bare 15 and in the second half every single Ballyshannon man lifted his performance. With a massive effort Aodh Ruadh were ahead by a point with moments to go, however a last minute goal for Ardara meant they took the two points. It was heartbreak for Aodh Ruadh, but the lads can be extremely proud of the heart and determination they showed. It was literally a 15 man performance, but in defence Cookie O'Halloran, Oisín Roper and Caolan Drummond were all outstanding, getting through a colossal amount of work under severe pressure. Conor Kennedy had a very good shift in midfield. Our forwards really rose to the challenge in the second half. Philip Patton, Jimmy Ward and Donal Sweeney all had showed sparks of brilliance, however Shane McGrath was outstanding, an exceptional talent for the future.
