The under 16s got their championship campaign off to a good start on Monday evening when they defeated Four Masters by 2-14 to 2-1 in Tir Chonaill park in the quarter final first leg. Eamon McGrath at full back and Matthew Gettins and Niall Harley half back were exceptional in defence. Mickey McNeely and Eddie Lynch had a very good outing at half forward. James Kelly was very sharp at inside forward, while David McGurrin had a superb game, hitting both of Aodh Ruadh goals and a slew of points. The second leg against Four Masters takes place next Monday, 4th July in Father Tierney Park.
