Aodh Ruadh 1-7
Buncrana 2-12
Tir Chonaill Park, Donegal town
The southern division 1 minor league final between Aodh Ruadh and Ardara was abandoned last Wednesday after torrential rain, thunder and lightning made Tir Chonaill park unplayable. Aodh Ruadh had been 0-2 to 0-1 up when the game was abandoned. Monday evening wasn't a whole lot better in terms of weather, but the game proceeded, and this time Ardara were the more dominant side. Ballyshannon found it hard to find their rhythm and were four down at half time. Ardara were able to maintain that gap and keep Aodh Ruadh at arm's length for the remainder to claim the divisional title on a score line of 2-12 to 1-7. Best for Aodh Ruadh was Ryan Granaghan who never stopped giving his all up front. He capitalised on good work from Jamie McDonald to get Aodh Ruadh's goal. Conor Patton also gave of his all, while PJ Gillespie and Eamon McGrath did sterling work in the full back line under a lot of pressure.
