Second half surge gives Glen the win
Under 18 football

Aodh Ruadh 2-4
Bundoran 1-10

It was a game of two halves for the minors on Sunday as they took on Naomh Columba in the Park on Sunday. The Ernesiders were shorn of the talents of Philip Patton, Cookie O'Halloran and Oisín Roper for this one and faced a brisk breeze in the first half. They duly delivered an outstanding half of football to go in leading by three points at the break. The second half was a different matter. Glen ground their way back into the game, Ballyshannon's conversion rate dropped and come the final whistle the visitors had amassed a three point winning margin.
A tough defeat to take, but there were still many positives in the game. Jason Granaghan and Colm Doyle, both at corner back, had exceptionally good games, while in the middle of the field Shane McGrath produced an outstanding performance. Conall Sweeny, one of the youngest members of the panel, really stepped up to the mark, dominating at centre back. Nathan Boyle was having a super game until forced off with ligament injury and we send him the club's best wishes for a speedy recovery. Despite that defeat Aodh Ruadh are through to the quarter-finals. However the minor programme is in flux at the moment as a few more games remain to be played before the final quarter-final composition is determined, so as yet we have no indication as to when that game will take place or who will provide the opposition.
