Fourth annual Hurlathon big success
The fourth annual Hurlathon took place in the Mercy Hall on Saturday, March 27th. Over 100 young and not so young hurlers took part in this event. Our under 8s got proceedings under way at 10am. Play continued through the day until 10pm. One of the highlights of the day was the couples match where the Townies beat Cashelard. Despite a great performance in goals by Caroline Irwin there was no stopping Frankie Sheerin and his crew. Thanks to all the parents who brought food and catered for the crowds all day. /p>
Thanks to all who sponsored the refreshments which were served throughout the day - Western Wholesale (Paul Gillespie), Fred Ormston (Mace), Pearse O'Neill, Kernan's and Mary Matthews of Shannon's Corner. Thanks to all the hurlers and their families who supported this event. Thanks to Ocean FM and the Donegal Democrat for promoting the Hurlathon. Thanks to Michael Donagher for all his help on the day and Colaiste Cholmcille for the use of the Mercy Hall. Finally thanks to all who sponsored the hurlers taking part. Thanks finally to all those who worked so hard gathering sponsorship.
Thanks to Brian Drummond and Thomas Gallagher who took the following shots for us.
