Under strength Aodh Ruadh lose battle with Setanta

Fielding an under strength senior Hurling team Aodh Ruadh lost last night against Setanta on a scoreline of 1-18 to 2-5. Despite losing the match, it was a good performance considering the strength of the Setanta squad which includes many county players.

Their minor star Danny Cullen in particular stood out and gave a great performance all through. Johnny Dolan and David Downey at midfield gave a good performance but the fitness, youth and teamwork of the Setanta team eventually began to tell particularly towards the end of the first half.

Goals in each half by Thomas Gallagher ('Schillachi') and Dennis Doherty helped bring about a revival but it was not enough.

Our next match is against Four Masters and after playing the two strongest teams in the county for the past two weeks (McCumhaills and Setanta) it is vital that Aodh Ruadh get a win!
