Ballyshannon Folk and Traditional Music Festival is inviting young folk and traditional acts (groups or individual) to take part in our showcase competition.

This year the showcase has evolved from its successful introduction last year, to be one of the North West's premier music competitions for young folk and traditional musicians.

The event will take place in a specially prepared venue with a fully sound equipped and checked stage so each act can perform their best for the audience and judging panel.

We are offering the winner a unique prize package. Firstly the opportunity to open the show in the Abbey Theater for the headline act Four Men and a Dog on 30th July 2010 where you will be presented with a unique commemorative award.

New to this year's prize is a days recording time and one days editing and mixing time in the local Edenvella Studios where you will be coached to produce a professionally engineered and mixed demo to help further your career.

Lastly, because it's a recession, we think you will need a cash prize of €500 to help you on your way, compliments of the Ballyshannon Folk and Traditional Music Festival.
