Aodh Ruadh draw another blank at home

DIVISION 1A
12 June 2005
Aodh Ruadh 1-09
Killybegs 1-11

Sean Perry reports.

Aodh Ruadh's wretched home form continued with four losses from four following an entertaining tussle in Fr. Tierney Park last Saturday evening.

Goal chances were common in the open stages, Michael Ward was on the end of a beautiful move after 13 minutes to tuck the ball past Andew Mullin to send Aodh Ruadh into a 1-3 v 0-2 lead.

The home side tagged on two further points to stretch the lead. However, Daniel Breslin popped home a goal for the fishermen to ease the pain of an earlier penalty miss by Kevin Martin to level matters at the break.

However, in the second half, it was Killybegs who assumed control, keeping and using possession with good effect. In spite of a brief Aodh Ruadh comeback in the final quarter, the visitors held out to secure two valuable league points.
