Reserves go down in championship replay

Senior Reserve Football Championship quarter-final replay
6 September 2009
Aodh Ruadh 1-5
Dungloe 1-10

Dungloe Reserve team joined their senior counterparts in the semi final stages of this year's championship following this five point win against Aodh Ruadh at O'Donnell Park yesterday evening.

The sides shared a draw in Glenties a week earlier but it was Dungloe, who started without former All Ireland winner Tony Boyle, who were stronger throughout.

Three points off the boot of full forward Benny McGarvey together with scores from Tomas Brennan and Joe Sweeney, together with a Daniel Bonner goal, gave Dungloe a two point lead at the break (1-05 to 1-03).

Corner forward Diarmuid McInerney, with a goal and point, Turlough McIntyre and David Dolan replied for Aodh Ruadh.

Dungloe scored further points after the break through McGarvey (2), Daniel Bonner, and Joe Sweeney (2) while Barry Mulligan (2) replied for Aodh Ruadh.
