Aodh Ruadh travel to Kilmacud sevens
It was a quiet week last week on the adult football front with the reserves and thirds on an All-Ireland final weekend lay-off. The seniors sent a sevens side down to the Kilmacud sevens, though. They rattled up a good 1-10 against the hosts, Kilmacud Crokes, but the Crokes were better at finding the net and their 4-6 gave them the first win of the group stages. Next up were Kilcoo, from the spiritual home of sevens football, Down. Kilcoo ran out 4-8 to 2-8 winners in that one. Aodh Ruadh's best display of the day came against the team that would ultimately top the group and go on a run to the Kilmacud sevens semi-finals. Caherlistrane of Galway had only a single point to spare over the Ernesiders at the final whistle.
