Reserves go down fighting
Intermediate Reserve Football championship
18 August 2013
Aodh Ruadh 1-14
Buncrana 0-12
Scarvey, Buncrana
The reserves exited the championship at the hands of a 1-14 to 0-12 quarter-final second leg defeat to Buncrana. Aodh Ruadh had been holding their own, but a goal just before half time proved a critical blow, sending the sides in at 0-2 to 1-9. Ballyshannon gave it everything they had in the second half, but couldn't make up the ten point deficit. Aidan Murray and Niall Thomas in midfield both had excellent games, Thomas contributing a pair of beautiful long range points. David Hoey and Gerard McIntyre also hit some lovely scores. Stephen Clarke did well when he came on for Paddy Gillespie who went off with a bad injury.
