Reserves finish season with a flourish
Senior Reserve Football Division 3
10 November 2014
Aodh Ruadh 5-10
Naomh Bríd 1-9
Aodh Ruadh reserves finished their season with a flourish, a 5-10 to 1-9 victory over Naomh Bríd sealing their division three league title. Once again Michael 'Sticky' Ward lead the line well getting on the end of a goal and running up a fine tally of points. Also showing well in the forwards was Jason Gallagher. Gallagher worked like a dog throughout and had a couple of points to his credit, and was unfortunate to have a goal disallowed. Tom Hope was played in at corner forward and got a himself a great goal in the first quarter to set the Ernesiders on their way.
The win was built on an excellent display by Niall Thomas in the middle of the field and Ryan Granaghan also contributed well when moved into the engine room. The half back line were immense, Calum 'Cookie' O'Halloran a ball of energy while Ciaran Slevin and Christopher McCabe gave straight and honest effort on the wings. The subs also worked well for Ballyshannon, especially Daniel Kelly came on and hoovered up a lot of ball around the central area. A word too for Jason Granaghan made his debut in senior football off the bench, coming in at corner forward.
Well done to Jim Kane, Raymie Granaghan and everyone who helped and lined out for the reserves over the course of the season on bringing some welcome silverware back to the club.
