~ SENIOR FOOTBALL ~
The most important game of the year for Aodh Ruadh takes place this Sunday at 2pm in Convoy. Ballyshannon take on Kilcar in the relegation playoff to decide which of the pair will play Division 1A football in 2008. Kilcar will also be playing in the reserve semi-final beforehand so it is essential that as many people from Ballyshannon as possible make the effort to get to Convoy to cheer on the team.

The Reserves lost by 1-2 to 4-12 against a strong Gaoth Dobhair side in Father Tierney park on Sunday.

Aodh Ruadh held their annual general meeting last Saturday in Aras Aoidh Ruadh. There was a big attendance present to discuss 2007 and make plans for 2008. The following officers were appointed: Patrons: Father O Fearrai and Father McManus; President, Sean Slevin; Vice-President, Peter Conlon; Chairman, Terrence McShea; Vice-Chairman, Mick McGrath; Secretary, John Magee; Assistant Secretary, Mary Matthews; Treasurer, Mary Grimes; Assistant Treasurer, Jimmy Gallagher; PRO, John Hughes; Oifigeach na Geailge / Scor, Eoin O'Moore; County Board Delegate, John Travers; Director of Coaching, Sylvester Maguire. The appointment of team managers was deferred to the first meeting after the relegation play-off.

Father Tierney Park is now closed for maintenance until the New Year.

Aodh Ruadh will be playing their football in Division 1B in 2008 after losing their relegation play-off against Kilcar on a scoreline of 0-11 to 2-10 in Convoy last Sunday. Ballyshannon played into a strong breeze in the first half and never really got out of the blocks. Kilcar took points with impunity whilst Aodh Ruadh only managed to register their first point in the 29th minute. Kilcar lead by 1-8 to 0-2 at half time. Three quick fire points by Aodh Ruadh directly after the break seemed to signal a turn in fortunes, but Kilcar raided a goal to snuff out the revival.

Father Tierney Park is now closed for maintenance until the New Year.
