Club registration
We hope that 2022 will be a less disrupted season than we have had for the past two years. With that in mind we ask all club members to start thinking about submitting their club registration. To facilitate registration we have an online option on Klubfunder.com available. Click on the link or search for 'Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon' on the Klubfunder.com site. Membership can also be paid to Gerry Ferguson at Ferguson's Jewellers. Players can also download registration forms from aodhruadh.org and submit this along with the relevant fee directly to their manager. It is essential all players are signed up club members. Non members are not covered by the GAA's injury insurance scheme and cannot line out for the club. Adult members will receive first priority for the club's allocation of All-Ireland final tickets in the event of Donegal contesting the decider. Only adult members registered by 31st March may vote at the club AGM.

Last Man Standing
Well, it certainly has been an eventful first weekend in our NFL Last Man Standing competition. We had over 440 entries for the competition generously sponsored by Mr G's. We extend a massive thank you to our sales team far and wide for all their efforts. Unfortunately with the first round of results throwing up three draws and surprise win for Armagh against Dublin in Croke Park, our field has already been dramatically cut with just 109 participants left standing. If it goes on like this we'll be doing well to get to the end of the league! Best of luck to all those still in the hunt.

AED defibrillator
Aodh Ruadh have been able to invest in a second AED defibrillator and cabinet thanks to the profits from selling club gear. This defibrillator will be located in Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh - Munday's field. The club will be organising a Heart Saver AED course which take around two and half hours. The course will be free to those from 14-years-old up to 18-years-old and adults will be €15. Normally this course would cost about €50. We encourage as many players and coaches as possible to register to ensure the widest range of potential life-savers in the club. Dates and times for the session will be confirmed at a later date. Text Chris Kelly on 086-8813553 to register with your, name, age and contact details. Parental consent will be required for under age attendees.

Other house winners were Dolores McDonagh, Mary McGloin, Daniel O’Brien, Deirdre Clarke, Josie Lynch, Rita McGullion (plus a line!), Fiona Murphy, Thomas Sweeney, Catherine McKee and Bernadette Sweeney. All My Sons at the Abbey Centre
Ballyshannon Drama Society will be presenting All My Sons by Arthur Miller from Wednesday 16th February to Saturday 19th February, at 8pm nightly in the Abbey Arts Centre, Ballyshannon. Rehearsals have been underway for months at this stage, in line with government health guidelines, which have thankfully been lifted just in time for opening night a few weeks from now. The easing of restrictions also means the group will be able to take the show on the road to participate in the All-Ireland Drama Festival with some sense of normality. All My Sons is one of Miller’s best known plays, set in post-WWII America, in the backyard of the Keller household. The family struggles to stay intact and fight for their future when a long-hidden secret threatens to emerge - forcing them to reckon with greed, denial, repentance, and post-war disenchantment across generations. The director of this year’s production is Trish Keane. While this is Trish’s first time at the helm of a festival production, she has been a major contributor to the success of all our previous productions, having won countless awards for her acting roles and set design, and being involved in every other aspect of the shows at some point. The stellar, multi-award-winning cast consists of familiar faces and a few newcomers to the society including Richard Hurst as Joe Keller, Rachel O’Connor as Kate Keller, Troy Devanny as Chris Keller, Deirdre Ferguson as Ann Deever, Terence Mc Eneaney as George Deever, Tony Liston as Dr. Jim Bayliss, Ailis McIntyre and Sue Bayliss, Ronan Drummond and Frank Lubey, Audrey Davitt as Lydia Lubey, and John McHugh as Bert. With such an excellent cast and crew, the show promises to be a fantastic night of drama, and is sure to impress audiences around the country once it goes out on the circuit. Tickets are available from the Abbey Arts Centre box office on 071-9851375 or visit abbeycentre.ie.

Last Man Standing
Armagh winning for the second week in succession has again seen a huge number of players exiting the competition this week. We are now down from over 440 to just 43 players left standing in our NFL prediction competition. Donegal were the safe bet last week with 37 of those left tipping them to top Kildare. There should be plenty of action in the next game week, with five more left week's left in the competition generously sponsored by our good friends at Mr G's.

Premiership Snowball
This weekend will hopefully see the destination of our Premiership Snowball decided with Jimmy Gethins, Stephen Pearson and Dan Breen all hoping to be the last man left standing.

Sponsor a Sod
This Friday, February 18th, is the final date for local sellers to return their vouchers, sold or unsold, to Tom Daly, Michael Daly or David McLoone. We need full co-operation with this so that we can plan the redistribution of unsold vouchers. We will relaunch this vital fund-raiser in the second half of March, when the contractor comes back on site. There is still a gap to be closed to meet the costs of the various works. In the meantime, this fund-raiser can be supported online via Klubfunder or by contacting any club member. Sincere thanks to all who have supported this initiative in such a generous way. Within six months of our initial launch in June 2021, we hit the landmark figure of €50,000. This gives great confidence to all who are involved in driving forward with the major programme of works at the Father Tierney Park.

Father Tierney Park Project
Prunty Contracts, having completed the major civil works element last year, return to build the new sand-based playing surface after St Patrick's Day. With clement weather we look forward to the completion of the import of sand, mole-draining and the sowing out of the upgraded pitch in the months after that.

Premiership Snowball
Despite extending our Premiership Snowball competition by a few extra weeks Jimmy Gethins, Stephen Pearson and Dan Breen simply couldn't be separated, and so the trio will split the €500 prize fund between them. Thanks so much to everyone who supported the event and made it such a success.

Monthly club meeting
The monthly club executive committee meeting has been rescheduled from this Thursday to Wednesday 2nd March.

Club registration
We ask all club members to start thinking about submitting their club registration.

Support the Ladies with your Lidl shop
The Lidl Serious Support Campaign is back again this year. We ask any club supporters who shop in Lidl to please select Aodh Ruadh from the clubs listed and collect stamps through the app. This proved to be a great fundraiser for the club last year and we would like to replicate that success in 2022. To get involved go to your smart phone, download and open the Lidl Plus app from your appstore and tap 'Start collecting'. Follow the on screen prompts to select Aodh Ruadh. You can tap on 'More information for terms and conditions and FAQs. After each shop you'll be able to add stamps to the app. You can use the app to see how many stamps you have collected and and submit your card once it is full. Spread the word!
